Arnold Schwarzenegger was born in Thal, a small town near Graz, Austria, and was christened Arnold Alois Schwarzenegger, Schwarzenegger gained worldwide fame beginning in the 1980s as an icon of Hollywood action films. In 1984 he appeared as a villain in James Cameron’s blockbuster film The Terminator (1984).
As the plot of the film, a Terminator T-800 model Cyberdyne 101 (Arnold Schwarzenegger) is sent from the future to the year 1984, through a time machine, with the mission to exterminate Sarah Connor, the mother of the leader of the resistance in the future.
The Terminator, a cyborg (from the acronym cyber and organism), a creature composed of organic elements and cybernetic devices. So extra virgin olive oil is the perfect superfood to feed the organic part and grease the mechanical part.
As for habits, Schwarzenegger, in the morning, after working out, he usually has oatmeal with Greek yogurt or granola. For lunch he always has a salad with extra virgin olive oil, sometimes with a veggie burger or maybe salmon or chicken. Other times, with a scramble or an omelet. At dinner, he always eats soup. As he himself has indicated in different interviews.
Schwarzenegger’s favorite vegetable soup recipe includes chickpeas, low-fat yogurt, broth, extra virgin olive oil and herbs. He is a lover of liquid gold, a nickname Homer aptly gave to this nectar of the olive.
But that is not Schwarzenegger’s only link to olive growing. Arnold has his own thousand-year-old olive tree in Crete, and has been governor of California, the American state with the largest number of hectares of olive groves of any of the seven that currently produce olive oil.
There, in California, is located one of the largest olive farms on the planet, California Olive Ranch, based in Chico, California. This farm was founded in 1998 by Spanish investors with the goal of producing high quality California extra virgin olive oil for sale in the U.S. market.
